FAMILY CAMPING ARTICLES
What other sport can you get involved with where you can spend time with your entire family in a traditional country setting enjoying everything that Mother Nature has to offer, to extend your trip you may consider a camping tent such as our selection of Turbo tents with it's Pop Up design or an Adjustable Camping Cot to enjoy your stay and the enjoyment of sleeping under the stars, allowing you to set up quick and spend more time trying to catch the "Big one".
While there is usually patience involved in landing the wonders of our lakes, rivers or streams it is just like anything else where you build a knack for it the more you do it. The great thing about it is while you are learning everyone else in your family can be learning and enjoying at the same time.
Just to make sure your trip goes off without a hitch there are a few things you are going to need to do before heading out to the open water. Firstly and probably most important make sure you check on the local laws of where you are going fishing. There will be requirements such as a licence. The best place to check all this out is at your local sporting goods store. They will be glad to tell you what you need and in most cases they can even supply it for you.
While you are at the store it probably is a good time to walk around and stock up on what you are going to need for your first fishing trip. Remember to tell the person helping you that you are a beginner and that you do have a budget you need to follow. More times than not they will be more than accurate on what they sell you for your first trip.. There is no need for big expensive equipment at first. You can upgrade your fishing gear as you move along in your fishing life.
An inexpensive tackle box lightly stocked with various hooks, weights and bobbers is sufficient at first. Also an inexpensive fishing rod is more than sufficient for your first few outings. Even the most cheaply built rods now days are doing wonders in being able to land the fish.
Now it’s time to decide on where you are going to go fishing. Usually the people at the fishing store can help you with that as well. They already know you are a beginner so they should be sending you some place where they are relatively confident that some fish can be caught.
For your first fishing experience it wise to fish someplace that is easily accessible. Someplace you can drive right up to or get to with a fairly short stable walk. Probably the most important thing I can tell you about your first fishing trip is to stay safe. I wouldn’t recommend going out alone. Things are always better with a buddy anyways. If you do have to go alone then please make sure you let someone know where you are going and what time you should be expected home.
It’s pretty hard to have a bad day of fishing. I fish for the relaxation and never care if I catch a thing. Just a reminder to all of you who decide to take up the wonderful sport of fishing. This is the one and only thing you need to remember.
A bad day of fishing is always better than a good day of work.
